Can my ex legally open medical bills for our children under my name for procedures not covered under benefits?

She refused to go to an authorized dentist under my plan and opened dental bills in my name not authorized by me for procedures for our son that were not covered under my dental benefits. Am I responsible for the bill?

That sounds pretty sketchy to me. There may be something in your divorce settlement that states that you are responsible for dental care for the boys (or you may be jointly responsible), but I really don't think she is allowed to open their accounts in your name.

She needs to consult with you, obviously taking them somewhere that isn't covered in your plan is ridiculous and spiteful. You should really talk to your lawyer if you have one, or at least tell her you are going to do so. If you are involved in the children's lives, and are responsible for their bills then you should be the one taking them to the dentist, not her!
Reply:The answer hinges upon the wording of your divorce decree. Best to ask your lawyer.
Reply:Yes she can. If the divorce decree states you are responsible for there dental/medical. My Ex-Husband gets all the bills on our daughter whether I choose a Dr. in his network or not. Sorry!
