Gentle Dental for my pet?

About 5 months ago I had my dog in at the vet for a gentle dental. She was a small dog (6 lbs) and she was 13 years old. She recently passed away from kidney disease. We found out from a lady who had been working for gentle dental since the start that the animal should be given an antibiotic shot after the procedure to insure that any bacterial swallowed would be flushed out. If the bacteria isn’t flushed out, it could cause kidney disease. We were never informed by the vet, or the gentle dental tech of this, the only way we found out was from the gentle dental lady after we had to put down our dog because she was dying of kidney disease. We never signed any documentation telling us about any side effects or any shot that they are suppose to be given etc. What can I do about this... I am furious that I had to put down my beautiful dog because they couldn’t tell me about a shot that could have saved my dogs life.... please help.
