Can dental anesthetic make you tired for days?

Hi~

I had to had my wisdom teeth taken out, on two separate procedures. And each time after my procedure I am tired for days - cannot stay awake during the days and still tired after hours of good sleep.

So I am wondering if it is the dental anesthetic that makes me tired? Is it possilbe that the local anesthetic that got injected into my gums is now slowly getting into my brain?

Or is it the antibiotics I am taking? I don't believe I found fatique as a side effect of the antibiotic.

Thank you~

No, a dental anesthetic does not make u tired for days. A dental anesthetic is a locally acting anesthetic and its effects wear off after a few hours.. and it does not go to the brain as it acts in a local area. different antibiotics have diff mild side effects usually.. but i don't think they cause sleep.. usually u may have a stomach upset or so. The fatigue may just be becoz u r weary of the dental procedure and u feel upset about it.. or maybe for an entirely different reason.. or maybe u r not able to eat properly immediately after the procedure..which may lower your glucose levels and make u lethargic. Don't worry u'll be fine.
Reply:Hmm, it could be possible but honestly it's probably the meds you are taking aftwards. Which is'nt a bad thing. Maybe take the next 1-2 days off work after getting a procedure done? ^^
Reply:What pain killer or you taking. Any narcotic (codiene, Vicodin, etc.) can make you feel that way.
